The IGSRC was created in 2015 to bring together researchers and Postgraduate students from various disciplines whose research is dedicated to gender and sexuality and their representations. We are interested in exploring how different historical, cultural, social, political and linguistic contexts impact on, and constantly reconfigure the realities, meaning and codes of gender and sexuality.
Our objective is to highlight the need for an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the field and to strengthen research on the intersections between gender and sexuality and other categories such as (but not limited to) race, ethnicity, social class, temporality and space, age, disability and embodiment.
Our members are based in local, national and foreign Higher Education institutions and work on collaborative or independent projects and come together for research meetings, seminar series and a larger scale annual conference. We are keen to hear from you if you would like to join us or collaborate on events.
